Visuals of the Past

This is a short video that we took just before the second squal hit us three weeks ago on our way from Big Bay to Houghton.. We were preparing in a cove on the West side of West Huron Island.

You know Granite Island? Yeah, the one that every "newcomer" in Marquette believes is a huge ship north of town....okay so here's a reality check of this unknown world.  Guess you could say we've found the Kingdom of those picnic-crashing white rats with wings.

"The seas only gifts are harsh blows, and occasionally the chance to feel strong. Now I don’t know much about the sea but I do know that’s the way it is here, and I also know how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong but to feel strong. To measure yourself at least once, to find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions. Facing the blind, deaf storm alone, with nothing to help you but your hands and your own head." -Into The Wild
