Engaging in Nature…Engaging in Love

Okay I can’t wait long enough to write things chronologically.   COREY PROPOSED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   It was a calm evening that day of 18 August, when he took her to the bow of her family’s sailboat.  The sun was setting brilliantly over the islands surrounding Long Point Cove. He wrapped his arms around her and told her that he loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.  Then he gracefully got down on his knee and pulled the small white box from his pocket.  Opening it to her mother’s old wedding ring, he asked her “Megan, will you marry me?”  Such a blur of happiness, shouts of congratulations from other boaters in the bay who witnessed and the toll of bells and horns by my teary-eyed parents.  The day that girls dream of from the day ‘cooties’ don’t exist anymore.  This day marks the uniting process of two families as one and the time that "forever-together" becomes a reality.

So I get to say all of this, because currently Corey has taken Zephyrus out for an evening sail.  We are currently anchored in Gore Bay…a small Canadian village for resupply and internet.  The past handful of days has been a paradise that people go long distances to find.  Private islands of glacial smoothed rocks and untouched forests.  Blue and blackberry hunting.  Rock hiking and bouldering. We were in Long Point Cove then over to Bear Drop Harbor.  Places I’ve been coming almost every summer since I can remember.  Each night we tie the two boats to each other and spend great evenings with my parents laughing about all sorts of absurdities that we can conjure up.  Weather has been ideal…even the storms are better when it’s not OUR anchor we’re relying on! We got hit with an evening squal that blew over fairly quickly.  It was quite a lightning show!

After this we’ll head to the Benjamin Islands, a family favorite.  Then who knows where…that’s the beauty of unlimited selection, ey?
